Stephen Keys is a highly sought-after tax professional from Chicago with over ten years of experience in the finance industry. Keys is a speaker, author, and entrepreneur. He saw an opportunity and decided to name the company Expedient Tax Incorporated. Stephen is the CEO/ Founder of Expedient Tax Service he runs the company with his wife Essence keys who is the co- founder/VP of Operations. They are the “Dynamic Duo,” and together with their Expedient Tax team, their clients are along for a great experience. Stephen believes in honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
He has been featured on Most influential CEO 2022 in the UK magazine, WVON1690 Radio, awarded best company’s award in finance and insurance, Known as Top Global 100 Leaders in Finance, and his company is currently a Comcast Rise Recipient winner where their commercial can be seen on Comcast Network Television. He has an e-book on amazon called “How to Start an Income Tax Service.”
His strong belief in God and leaving a legacy he does not take lightly, so in everything he does, that is always in the forefront. Stephen loves to educate about financial literacy so much that in 2012 he created the Expedient Tax Institute. These classes offer all levels of learning in the tax industry from basic to advance. He and his wife recently launched the Keys Foundation to inspire and teach the importance of financial literacy and customer service.
Stephen is in the process of leading Expedient Tax as a franchise business to give other entrepreneurs opportunities to build wealth.
He believes in teaching ownership. Stephen’s wife and kids Stephen and Jeremiah keep him motivated. He looks forward to what is to come.

Essence Keys
Essence is driven, motivated, and a woman of faith. She is multi-talented, known for singing, acting, modelling, speaking, and entrepreneurship. Essence is from Chicago, Illinois.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications from Eastern Illinois University in 2012. After receiving her degree, she joined a community service pageant where she was crowned as Miss Black Windy City USA. She later competed for the title of Miss Black Illinois USA placing 1st runner-up as a first-time contender. Essence has performed on many stages from Chicago, Showtime at the Apollo, Atlanta, and LA. She continues to sing to make an impact in people’s lives. She has been recognized by EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson for her vocal ability.
She later found an opportunity with her husband and Founder of Expedient Tax Service Stephen Keys in 2012 where she now is Co-Founder and VP of Operations. She has been featured alongside her husband on WVON1690 Radio, CEO Monthly UK magazine, has been featured in Money 2.0 magazine in Las Vegas after speaking at a conference on a panel representing the company, and has been awarded as Top 50 Women Leaders of Illinois 2023.
Essence used her skills in performing arts, customer service, and corporate communications to help with launching innovative ideas for the business. Her Goal is to give the client the Ultimate VIP Experience. She also motivates other women to step into their gift. God has always given her the strength to persevere through anything she does. Essence believes that through her gifts she can be a blessing and light to others. Her family is her motivation to continue doing great things. She is an advocate for moms and will be launching her first blog/ podcast called ” You Got This Mommy, Just Breathe. Essence loves spending time with her two sons Stephen Jr. and Jeremiah.
